I did it! I ran my very first 10k! A bunch of my friends decided to do a 10k together. Michelle and I only got two 2 1/2 mile runs in before the race. Turns out it is pretty hard to train with a 3 month old. Anyways we did it and it turned out to be so much fun... painful but fun. I even survived to tell about it.
Here we are before the big race. Look how happy we look. At this point we didn't know what we were in for. Michelle was my running buddy. She totally kept me going and we did it!We ran 6.2 miles in 66 minutes. Not too impressive for the avid runner but we were just thrilled to survive and cross the finish line.
Here we are post run. Girl Power!!!
The actual running part was rough and that last mile lasted FOREVER! But I can totally see how people get hooked on running. All the sweat and pain was worth it when I crossed the finish line. It was such a huge accomplishment for me and I can't wait to do it again. Hopefully this is just the beginning...Happy running!!
