A fun-filled southern adventure!

James elected to take an implant course with some Dental school buddies, the Hutchisons and the Baileys and I got to tag along and hang with the ladies. It was a blast! We got to visit our great friends the Baileys who live in Augusta, GA.

Welcome to the South!

Our first adventure was a stop at the local Flea Market. It was interesting and I was able to buy some Girl Scout Cookies so it was well worth it.

We drove past The Master's golf course a couple of times. This was the best picture I could get considering it was on serious Lock Down.

One day we drove out to the Redcliffe Plantation and it was beautiful. There was so much land and you could just feel the history oozing out everywhere.

It was so interesting to hear about the family owners and the lifestyle back then. I love history so it was quite a treat!

Michelle and I took a trip to Savannah, GA for the day and enjoyed the sights.

They had the cutest and yummiest bakery ever! We had a delightful breakfast and were off to do shopping!

The city is also rich in history and was organized around park squares. Lots of gorgeous architecture and landscaping.

It was a pretty big place and it was full of adorable little shops and boutiques.

We had to make a stop at Paula Deen's restaurant- Lady and Sons even if the wait was 5 hours.

Good southern cooking! Do you know they serve it with a side of Lipitor? JK These fried green tomatoes were so yummy. I had to stop after 2 but still- very yummy! Everything here is fried. Not so good on the old ticker but quite delicious!

Michelle, thanks for being my travel buddy. It was almost 6 hours round trip so I am sorry if you reached your Kristina maximum. I had a blast in Savannah!

Meanwhile...while I was enjoying grits and fried green tomatoes James was slaving away at the Medical College of Georgia. I don't know if it was all slaving away though- I know he managed to have a fun time too!

There it is. Where he was everyday (literally) from 7:00 to sometimes 8:00 at night. Jess, you are quite the trooper.

The boys. Reunited at last and still just as immature! LOL. It was such a fun trip and James came away with a lot of great knowledge and had a great time with his buddies. I have photos of him in action that will be coming soon. Thanks to the Baileys for such a fun stay! I am so lucky to have such awesome friends. I miss ya!

Tray's first Hair-cut

As hard as I tried to put it off and as much as I loved the mullet that Tray was rocking I couldn't deny that it was time...for his first Professional Hair cut :( I love his long hair and I was very attached to it, and I know that sounds weird. He was born with a ton of hair and he has always had a ton of blonde hair and I love it! So lets just say I was nervous for the big day.

So cute. His hair grows like a weed so for the past 20 months I had been trimming it myself about every 2 weeks. I was getting tired of it, it was not easy. I gave in and we took a trip to Cookie Cutters.

Tray had a blast at first.

Things were going great. He got to sit in a cool airplane and watch a movie. He even got a sucker. But it was all in vain b/c as soon as that lady turned on the clippers it was all tears. I didn't take any photos but I did video it and it was SAD. It was as if he was being tortured and it was breaking my heart. The whole time he was saying "Mama all done, bye bye, all done peas"

But in the end we survived and it was the fastest hair cut I have ever seen. I think it lasted a whole 3 minutes. Tray came out of it with a balloon and a sucker so he was okay. I do have to give a shout out to the lady that cut his hair- she was great! Super patient amidst the chaos and Cookie Cutters was awesome!

So cute! At first we were in shock and were thinking where did our little boy go? We thought he looked so grown up and looked like he was ready to join the service. We even taught him how to salute. What a cutie. Hair or no hair he is still so dang adorable I can't stand it. I saved his locks for a memory but I am sure in another 2 weeks we will be ready for haircut number 2.

Quite the adventure. I love his new look. I love you Tray! I am so proud of you!

A very belated Valentines Shout-out

WOW! A very late post. I have been a slacker (I say that a lot lately) so here is my Valentines post I know you have all been dying to read. Valentines was very fun and very romantic as always when you are married to James. He surprised me with a date night and that was a breath of fresh air. We went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner. I could eat there every night...Delicious!!!

We actually have some dating history there. I think we went on our 3rd date there. It was fun to reminis, thanks BABE!

Next we did my all time favorite thing...bowling. LOL. I am the world's worst bowler. If you are a Hillstrom then you know. But it was fun cause I didn't care and since we are married there was no pressure to perform amazingly and I could just be a big dork. Ha ha. The perks of marriage.

Not so nice form. Then we came home and it was gift time. I got James P90X that he has been dying to get. He shocked me with the gift of the century. One that I have been wanting for years....A brand new Digital Nikon Camera with all sorts of fancy lenses and photography classes. Yahoo! I did not see that one coming especially since we agreed on the "No present" thing which never works out. In this case I couldn't be happier he disobeyed my instructions. Thanks honey! WoW!

Of corse we had fun trying it out and goofing off.

Of course I have had fun practically every day trying it out. Yes, I am another photography wannabe.

What fun! Thanks to my hubby who is always thinking of me. Thank you for giving me such an adorable baby boy to take pictures of and one amazingly complex but awesome camera to take them with. I love you.
