I know it's a little late...

"If there is anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where anything is possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states. We have been and always will be the United States of America. It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America." -Barack Obama

I know this is way belated but I thought I better post my thoughts about the recent election. I think it was so wonderful to see the way America responded to Obama's victory. Although I was rooting for his opponent, no one can deny how emotional it was to witness history in the making. It is amazing how far we as human beings have evolved and I am so proud to be a part of that progress. It was so great to see an African American become the next President. We truly live in a wonderful nation. I have also been thinking about all our armed forces who are serving our country. Thank you for all you do. When I think about all the sacrifices they are making for us I feel so grateful and humbled. God bless America!

Our trip to the chocolate factory

If you know James you know that he LOVES chocolate!! We are talking a chocolate addict. So of course we thought Tray might love it as well and to find out we took him to the Anthony Thomas Chocolate Factory and he loved it!!

Eddie, Carson, Dad and Tray. Check out that life size Santa. We almost got it for Tray's Christmas gift :)

Mom and Tray with the gigantic buckeye. Yes, it is real and can be your for only$3,500.

Dad and Tray. 235 pounds of milk chocolate and sincere bliss. Dad really wanted to bring that buckeye home.

I think it is safe to say that the chocolate factory was a hit!! I am sure we will have a lot of chocolate in our house. It is a good thing we know a good dentist.

Time to eat...

So we started eating!! First step was buying a big boy chair for Tray. He loves it! I think he loves being at the table with us, he is getting so big!!Here was our first attempt at rice cereal....not quite sure what to think.
It is definitely growin on him.
Now I think he likes it, although he always wants to grab the spoon and do it himself. Next week- baby food. I can't wait :)
Tray playing around and acting silly. He figured out he could grab the blanket and roll over. He thought it was hilarious.

My little smiley boy!

So I just had to post this photo again, it is so darn cute! I love this guy's little smile, it keeps me going and makes my day! One of my favorite things is to get him up in the morning or from a nap...Dad and I make sure we are both there b/c it is so fun. He is so excited to see us, I love it!!I actually look forward to it every night.
He is eating rice cereal now and I think he likes it! He is also sitting up all by himself, which he has been doing for a while now...but he is getting really good at it! He loves to roll all around and he can cover some serious land. He starts out at one spot and will roll to the other side of the room. PS I went to the doctor's this week and he is 17 pounds, can you believe that?? I love this little guy :)

Trick-or-Treat!

So this year we had a great Halloween and I must say it is a ton more fun with a little one to dress up. Tray was an adorable shark! He didn't quite know what to think of his costume at first and started crying but eventually he seemed to like it. Thanks to Nana for the super cute costume.

Isn't he the cutest shark you have ever seen? Trayden with his best bud, Carson. He was a cute little lobster. I guess we went with the under the sea theme this year.

We had a blast at our Ward Halloween Party! I was a ferocious cat, thanks to Michelle. Tray was a little on the tired side considering his bedtime was 6:30 and the party started at 7:oo.He was such a party animal and crashed half way through the party. It was so cute to see him snoozing in his costume. He was exhausted!

Some of us just are not cut out for the party life. It was so fun to see everyone and their cute kids. I love Halloween! My cute friend Heather and I decided to take part in a pie-eating contest! It was way fun and let me tell ya, that whipping cream was delicious...not so good for the complexion though :)
Yahoo! I did it! I took second place and what a blast!
Trayden was so excited when he got a special delivery from Grandma and Grandpa Hillstrom. He was so excited and so was Mom. Check out that adorable ghost wrapping paper. Jame's mom is so cute and creative. That was so thoughtful of you guys! Thanks!
Here he is with all his loot. He loves all his new toys! Thanks so much for thinking of us. We decided that this year we were going to do a Murder Mystery Dinner. Something we had never done before so we were not sure how it would turn out. It was way fun and I for sure want to do more of them in the future. My handsome James as Winsom Cash. Check out that BLING!!Me as Shirley Knott. Here we are...Yes, that facial hair is real. Dressing up is so fun!It was a fun Vegas themed night. Don't worry that is Rootbeer.

Eddie, I mean Terry Fie with his little tike in tow. The girls actin cazy!! Ariel was a pregnant, goth waitress and Michelle was a glamourous hitch hiker. Thanks girls for going all out, it was a blast!! I have to do a shout out to Dave who was a tough cop. So as you can see Halloween was so fun this year, even if we only got 2 trick-or-treaters :( I guess it means more candy for us. Can't wait for next year!!

Latest stats!!!

WOW!! I am so behind in my posting... I guess life got the best of me :) It has been so fun with little Tray. He is starting to show his little personality and he always keeps me laughing. He is one curious little boy and is constantly exploring his new world. He has become quite the little "grabber" and wants to reach out and grab everything. It is pretty fun, I feel the babyproofing phase is right around the corner. He is rolling around like a mad man! He has discovered a new crawl he puts his face down and little tush in the air and pushes himself around. It is pretty darn cute. He is now 5 months old (as of yesterday) and I can't believe it.
I know this is a little late. Here he is at his 4 month check-up. He weighed 15.1 (50%) and was 24.5 inches long (50%) We absolutely love our Pediatrician. She is awesome. We are your typical "paranoid" parents. I bet I average calling there about twice a month. Yep, I am a worrier...better safe than sorry, right?
Trayden and Dad.

Look at all that chub. I can't get enough of it!!
