In honor of Trayden's big one year birthday we decided to have a rockin' party! Trayden loves guitars so we had a little rock n' roll party!
I got brave this year and wanted to impress all my crafty friends :) so I decided to make a real cool cake!
Here it is...the finished product!
It was really fun to make but I didn't plan on it taking hours to make so we were a little rushed on time. Thankfully we made it to Highbanks park on time and fired up the grill.
Here are the cupcakes I made for all the other kiddos.
Some decorations. I found these really cheap centerpieces and added a photo of Tray and some balloons! I also made some little party hats for everyone, it was fun to be a party planner for a day.
Dad at the grill. The burgers were delicious...I didn't eat any but I heard they were out of this world!
Tray with his pop rocks and b-day hat!
No for the cake! At first he didn't really know what to think. He just stared at it and was in awe with its beauty. LOL. Not really. We finally put his hand in it and gave him taste. He was still unsure...
Getting more comfortable with the whole messy cake idea. I thought he would love the taste of it but he was more excited to play with it than eat it. I thought it was adorable.

What a proper little boy, he preferred to use a fork. Not really, just something else to play with. We figured it was his Birthday party so he could get a little wild!
This was a classic. He just found his nostrils a week or so ago. There is nothing like cake up the nose. He loved playing in the cake and getting messy more than the actual cake. It was so fun to see and I think he had a blast!
All the girls partying rock n' roll style.
The boys.
Tray loved playing with his friends and getting some new toys. Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing in his special day. Tray wants to give a shout out to his bud Russell...we missed you and thanks for sharing your day with Tray. Happy birthday!

So sorry we missed it. How could we, right? Trayden & Whitney will both be so mad at me for not being there. How will this even look on their wedding video? Oh, well. I guess I'll just take the blame on this one.
Logan was begging me not to take him to Utah so he would have to miss Tray's party. He said that he would sleep through the night and change all of his own diapers too if I would just leave him with Dad, but that wasn't really an option. I hated to break his heart - and now that I see what a rockin' party it was, my heart is broken too!! :) Glad to see all the fun pictures! That cake is AWESOME!! I am VERY impressed!! I'm totally going to call you for ideas in the future. :)
